To use the Freshdesk app in , you must have a Freshdesk account.
To get started, you must first create a connection between Freshdesk and , allowing the two services to communicate.
To create the connection, you need to:
Before you create the connection in , you should first obtain an API key in your Freshesk account.
To obtain the API key:
Log in to your Freshdesk account.
In the upper-right corner, click on your profile picture and select Profile Settings.
In the right sidebar, click the View API key button.
Copy the API key value shown and store it in a safe place.
Once you have your Freshdesk API key, you're ready to create the connection in .
To create the connection:
Log in to your account, add a Freshdesk module to your , and click Create a connection.
If you add a module with an instant tag, click Create a webhook, then Create a connection.
Optional: In the Connection name field, enter a name for the connection.
In the API key field, enter the API key you copied from your Freshdesk account.
In the Company name field, enter your domain name. If your Freshdesk URL is https://abc.freshdesk.com then enter abc here.
Click Save.
If prompted, authenticate your account and confirm access.
You've successfully created the connection and can now use the Freshdesk app in your . If you want to make changes to your connection in the future, follow the steps here.
The Freshdesk app has instant modules—webhooks that watch for certain changes in Freshdesk and immediately start your when those changes happen. To use these modules, you must set up the webhook in your Freshdesk account.
To set up the webhook:
Add a Freshdesk instant module to your and click Create a webhook.
Optional: Enter a name for the webhook in the Webhook name field.
Select the corresponding connection for the webhook in the Connection field.
Click Save > Copy address to clipboard.
Log in to your Freshdesk account.
Follow the directions as outlined in the Freshdesk Using Webhooks in Automation documentation.
Your webhook is now set up. When the selected change occurs in Frsehdesk, will immediately be notified and start your .
