ADP Workforce Now

The ADP Workforce Now app is only available on the Make Enterprise plan.
Requirements
To use the ADP Workforce Now app in Make, you must have a paid ADP Workforce Now account. For subscription information, refer to the ADP Plans & Pricing page.
Connect ADP Workforce Now and Make
To get started, you must first create a connection between ADP Workforce Now and Make, allowing the two services to communicate.
To create the connection, you need to:
Obtain your public certificate and private key
Before you create the connection in Make, you should first create a project to obtain your public certificate and private key files in your ADP API Central account.
To obtain the public certificate and private key:
Log in to your ADP Central account.
In the left sidebar, click Projects.
Click Create a project.
Enter a project name and click Next.
Select a use case for your project and click Create Project.
In the created project's page, Click Credentials > Manage certificate.
To request a certificate with a private key signed by ADP Workforce Now, click Request certificate and follow the steps:
- Getting started: Click Next.
- Generate private key:
- Enter a name for the certificate.
- Enter the organization unit name.
- Select your country.
- Enter state/province name and city.
- Click Next.
- Save your private key: Copy the private key and store it in a safe place. Save your private key using a .key extension. Once you save your private key, click Next.For example: ADPMarketplaceIntegration.key
Click Done.
In the Certificates page, click Download for the .pem file that you will extract in your Make scenario.
Now you requested a signed certificate and created a private key. You'll use these values in the Private key file and Certificate file connection fields in Make.
Obtain your client credentials
Once you have your public certificate and private key, you should obtain your client credentials in your ADP API Central account.
To obtain the credentials:
In the left sidebar, click Projects.
To see the credentials of the project you created above, click View project.
Under Step 2 section, click Copy client ID and store it in a safe place.
To obtain your client secret, switch on the Show secret toggle and click Copy client secret. Store the client secret in a safe place.
You'll use these values in the Client ID and Client Secret connection fields in Make.
Create the connection in Make
Once you have your ADP Workforce Now credentials, you're ready to create the connection in Make.
To create the connection:
Log in to your Make account, add an ADP Workforce Now module to your scenario, and click Create a connection.
Optional: In the Connection name field, enter a name for the connection.
In the Client ID and Client Secret fields, enter the client credentials you copied from your ADP Central account.
In the Private key file field, click Extract and select the .key file you downloaded from your ADP Central account.
In the Certificate file field, click Extract and select the .pem file you downloaded from your ADP Central account.
Click Save.
If prompted, authenticate your account and confirm access.
You've successfully created the connection and can now use the ADP Workforce Now app in your scenarios. If you want to make changes to your connection in the future, follow the steps here.
