With the Perplexity AI app in Make, you can create chat completions in your Perplexity AI account. 

# Requirements

To use the Perplexity AI app in Make, you must have a [Perplexity AI account](https://www.perplexity.ai/). To be able to make API calls, you must have credits in your account. For pricing information, refer to the [Perplexity AI pricing page](https://docs.perplexity.ai/guides/pricing#tracking-billing-per-api-key).

# Connect Perplexity AI and Make 

To get started, you must first create a connection between Perplexity AI and Make, allowing the two services to communicate.

To create the connection, you need to:

## Obtain your API key in Perplexity AI

Before you create the connection in Make, you should first obtain an API key in your Perplexity AI account.

To obtain the API key:

Log in to your Perplexity AI account.

Click the **Settings** icon next to your username.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
In the left sidebar, click **API**.
:::

Enter the required information to create a new API group and click **Save**.

Enter your payment details.

This step will not charge your credit card. It just stores payment information for later API usage.

Go to the **API Keys** tab in the API Portal.

Click **+ Create Key** to generate a new API key.

Copy the **API Key** value and store it in a safe place.

You'll use this value in the **API Key** connection field in Make.

## Create the connection in Make 

Once you have your Perplexity AI API key, you're ready to create the connection in Make. 

To create the connection:

Log in to your Make account, add a Perplexity AI module to your scenario, and click **Create a connection**.

Optional: In the ​​**Connection name​​** field, enter a name for the connection.

In the ​​**API Key** field, enter the API key you copied from your Perplexity AI account.

Click **Save**.

If prompted, authenticate your account and confirm access.
