## Obtain your API key in GMB Club

Before you create the connection in Make, you must first obtain an API key in your GMB Club account.

GMB Club organizes your account into a **sphere**, which is your brand or company, and **bubbles**, which are locations or points of sale within the brand. The scope you choose for the API key determines which locations the Make scenario can access.

To obtain the API key:

::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
Sign in to your GMB Club account.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
In the header, select the **bubble** (location) you want to connect.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Go to **Settings** > **API keys**, then click **New key**.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Select the key scope:

- **This location**: Creates a bubble key with access to one location.
- **Whole brand**: Creates a sphere key with access to all locations in the brand.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Configure the permissions for the key. The available permissions are read, schedule, publish, and delete.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Copy the API key and store it in a safe place. GMB Club shows the full key only once.
:::
::::

You'll use this value in the **API Key** connection field in Make.

If you use a sphere key, you must enter the ID of the location (**Bubble ID**) in modules that target a specific location. Otherwise, the module returns a 400 error.

## Create the connection in Make

Once you have your GMB Club API key, you're ready to create the connection in Make.

To create the connection:

::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
Log in to your Make account, add a GMB Club module to your scenario, and click **Create a connection**.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Optional: In the **Connection name** field, enter a name for the connection.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
In the **API Key** field, enter the API key you copied from your GMB Club account.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem

:::
