## Getting started with Amazon Web Services Redshift

You need to have an Amazon Web Services account and a running Redshift cluster configured for public access from the Internet. If you don't have an AWS account, you can create it here: [https://aws.amazon.com/console](https://aws.amazon.com/console). If you don't have a running cluster, you can look at the guides provided by Amazon, here: [http://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/gsg/rs-gsg-launch-sample-cluster.html](http://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/gsg/rs-gsg-launch-sample-cluster.html).

Don't forget to enable access for your cluster from the Internet so, Make can actually receive access.

### Connecting Amazon Redshift to Make

To connect your Amazon Redshift cluster to Make, follow the general instructions for [Connecting to services](https://www.integromat.com/en/help/connecting-to-services).

You will be prompted to enter the following:

- host: your cluster URL, which you get in your AWS Console
- port: port on which your database is running, default is 5439
- user
- password
- database

After you have filled all required fields you can click 'Continue'. Make will try to establish a connection to your database. If it succeeds, the dialog will close and you will be able to continue setting up your module.

Make will make connections to your database from [specific IP addresses](docId\:d0Fwd60KZrVCj9b0OzrIy). Our servers are set up with valid PTR records so you can easily restrict access by allowing `%.make.com`.
