Make AI Toolkit
Make AI Toolkit is an app with modules that help you quickly handle common AI work with the use of Make's AI Provider or a custom AI provider connection. The solution offers the ability to analyze sentiment, categorize text, identify language, extract information from text, standardize text, summarize text, translate text, and chunk text.
Key benefits
- AI provider choice: All plans can use Make's AI Provider. All paid plans can additionally use custom AI provider connections like OpenAI or Anthropic.
- Data privacy: Make does not store your data and your data is not used to train the AI.
- Error handling: When token limits are reached, a RuntimeError will be returned. For more information about the error, refer to the types of errors in Make.
- Interaction logs: Stored in scenario logs for 30 days (standard Make behavior).
Requirements
- All plans: Can use the app with Make's AI Provider.
- Core, Pro, Teams, or Enterprise plans: Can also use custom AI provider connections. This requires an account with the provider.
Connect Make AI Toolkit
Your connection method will vary depending on your plan:
Connect with a Free plan
To create the connection with a Free plan:
Log in to your Make account, add a Make AI Toolkit module to your scenario, and click Create a connection.
Optional: In the Connection name field, enter a name for the connection.
Select your Model.
When using Make's AI Provider, the module consumes credits for AI tokens. Learn more.
Click Save.
Connect with a Core, Pro, Teams, or Enterprise plan
To create the connection with a Core, Pro, Teams, or Enterprise plan:
Log in to your Make account, add a Make AI Toolkit module to your scenario, and click Create a connection.
Select your Connection type.
If you select Make's AI Provider, the module consumes credits for AI tokens. If you select a custom AI provider connection (for example, OpenAI or Anthropic Claude), the module consumes one credit per operation. Learn more.
If you are using Make's AI Provider, select your Model.
If you select a custom AI provider connection, add your API key for your account with that provider.
Click Save.
You've successfully created the connection and can now use the Make AI Toolkit app in your scenarios. If you want to make changes to your connection in the future, follow the steps here.
Credit usage
The Make AI Toolkit app has different credit usage based on the AI provider you choose.
For the Free plan, keep in mind the weekly token limit of 200,000 input tokens.

You can connect a custom AI provider—any external provider of your choice—which uses static billing of 1 credit per use. However, with a custom external AI provider, you'll also pay costs directly to that provider based on your account with them.
Only users on paid plans can use custom AI provider connections, such as OpenAI and Anthropic Claude.
When you connect to Make's AI Provider, credits vary based on the tokens consumed and the model selected. For information on token-to-credit conversion rates, see Make's AI Provider.
